Eyemouth’s volunteer RNLI crew were called out at the weekend to a motorboat that had called for help after a mechanical failure.

The town’s lifeboat was launched at around 2.30pm on Saturday, July 9.

The 5m long boat, with two people on board, had lost engine power two miles north west of St Abbs Head.

The lifeboat arrived at the scene and passed a tow line to the vessel, then towed it back to Eyemouth harbour where it was placed safely alongside the dock just over an hour after the launch.
