The Eyemouth Berwickshire Association for Voluntary Service (BAVS) charity shop is in temporary premises in the High Street after storm water hit its North Street premises.

The storm hit the charity shop, located near Eyemouth swimming pool, halfway through urgent roof repairs and it is currently unusable.

“The ever-resourceful shop manager May Robertson lost no time in finding new premises to cope with the Christmas rush,” said a BAVS spokesperson.

“Her gleaming new BAVS charity shop opened on Monday, December 5, on Eyemouth’s High Street, just next to the post office, and has proved a great hit with canny shoppers.

“Pop in, say hello and have a look. May and her volunteers can cope with the rush!”

The association has three shops in Eyemouth, Coldstream and Duns, selling a large assortment of goods at affordable prices from the humble egg cup to designer clothes.

Each shop also an information point displaying leaflets and posters about local groups and events, and all proceeds from the sale of goods are used to support charities and community groups throughout Berwickshire.
