Surfers Against Sewage is organising its biggest-ever Big Spring Beach Clean across the UK between April 3 and 8, including at Belhaven, near Dunbar.
More than 10,000 volunteers will clean up beaches and recycle single-use or throwaway plastics littering the UK’s coastline and rivers.
In partnership with leading sustainable brand Ecover, Surfers Against Sewage aims to collect over 50,000 plastic bottles from the beaches to create new bottles for the pioneering Ecover Ocean plastic bottle project.
There are over 400 Big Spring Beach Cleans registered across the UK, with 37 in Scotland.
The Belhaven beach clean is on Saturday, April 8, starting at 10.30am.
