The Eyemouth lifeboat and its volunteer crew were launched at 3am on Thursday, December 17 after a fishing vessel requested RNLI assistance with the towing of another fishing vessel.

The lifeboat was quickly alongside both vessels who were found four miles to the north of Eyemouth, and took up position as a stern tow, in order to act as a brake to the Leith registered trawler, Bright Ray, which was being towed by fellow trawler Crystal Stream.

Working in conjunction with the Crystal Stream, the lifeboat crew helped to line the Bright Ray up for a safe entry into Eyemouth harbour.

All three of the boats were safely alongside by 4.30 later that morning, after which, the Eyemouth lifeboat was stood down, refueled and was made ready for service again.
