A Berwickshire youngster has been nominated for a special award in recognition of his efforts for a very worthwhile cause.
Dylan Thomas from Eyemouth made a splash for Edinburgh’s Sick Kids by taking part in a swimathon which saw him swim 5000 metres- 200 lengths of his local swimming pool.
Witnessing younger brother Kane going through a operation at the Sick Kids Hospital was enough to convince the 10 year old to swim for the charity.
Dylan completed the 5000 metres in one go, raising £651 in the process and his efforts have been rewarded with a place on the shortlist for this year’s Sick Kids Hero accolade.
Dylan commented: : “I wanted to give the Sick Kids money back for looking after my brother.”
Winners will be announced on May 10.
