Ten Guides from 1st Duns Guides recently received their Baden-Powell Challenge Award, the highest award a girl can achieve in the Guide section.

The girls have been enjoying a variety of activities over the last year to complete the ten clauses required for the award including attending a trip to Switzerland, going to a pop concert, completing badges and organising activity and fundraising events.

The girls also loved taking part in a Baden-Powell Adventure to complete their award. In March three girls headed off to Canty’s Bay near North Berwick, where they completed the Town Trail, visited the Seabird Centre and Foxlake! Later that month two girls joined Forth Valley to stay in Stirling Guide Hut. They went to visit Stirling and went swimming. Three girls joined Girlguiding Northumberland for a ‘River Tyne Experience’ – all the activities took place on the river!
