Duns Citizen of the Year

There’s still time to nominate someone for Duns Rotary Club’s Citizen of the Year Award.

The prestigious trophy will be awarded to the person who, in the opinion of the judges, has contributed the most to the local community in the last year.

There are three ways to nominate. Email at the Berwickshire News; get a form from the Post Office or George Romanes’ shop in Duns (Please fill in the form with the name of the person you wish to nominate, the reason you feel they deserve the award and then deposit it in the boxes in the Post Office or Romanes Chemist); or nominate on line at

People nominated, male or female, must live in the Duns Rotary area (this includes Duns, Chirnside, Greenlaw, Swinton, Longformacus, Abbey St Bathans, Preston and Gavinton). They must have made a significant impact on the well being of the local community.

The closing date for nominations is Saturday, June 29.
