The young people’s Citizens Advice Bureau service operating in Berwickshire was visited by South of Scotland MSP Jim Hume (Lib Dem) last week.

The successful Berwickshire Young Citizens Project is being used as a template for services across the region helping young people with a wide range of issues.

There has been a 96% increase in client contacts with repeat issues, and a further 68% increase in clients coming forward with new issues to the Berwickshire service.

Annette McGraith, the young persons’ adviser based at Southfield, Duns, said: “We want to make sure all young people in Roxburgh & Berwickshire feel they have the knowledge and the confidence to lead lives which are financially successful and free of debt and other problems. That’s what Youthinfo@CAB is all about.”
