A new group is putting in spadework to tidy up the gardens at Dunbar Railway Station.
Last weekend around a dozen volunteers armed themselves with gloves and pruning shears to tackle the undergrowth and shrubs. The ‘DUNBAR’ lettering and lighthouse statue that used to welcome train passengers to the town was being overwhelmed by vegetation.
The Sustaining Dunbar group is behind the project as spokesman Morag Haddow explained: “As well as brightening up the place for commuters, it is also important to appeal to visitors to our town. We’d like to encourage more people to visit Dunbar by train.
East Lothian Council provided planters and East Coast Trains filled them with flowers.
