The Rotary Club of Dunbar has awarded its Community Salver for 2015 to Pauline Smeed in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Dunbar Historical Society for more than 20 years.

Pauline has been researching and recording many aspects of Dunbar’s long history including the gravestones at Dunbar Parish Church, helping in the study and clearing of the harbour vaults, and most recently, researching the origins of street names in Dunbar.

The salver was presented to Pauline by Rotary Club president Judy Greenwood at the club’s Scottish night during which members enjoyed a variety of entertainment provided by club members including songs, poems and even a traditional dance, all with a Scottish theme.
