Members of Dunbar Rotary Club have been rewarded for hard work in recent weeks.

At a meeting of the club which attended by District 1020 Governor, Andy Ireland, three club members were treated to a surprise award to recognise their contribution to the life of Rotary. All three are past presidents of Dunbar Rotary and in her citations, current president Judy Greenwood outlined the service and achievements of Elaine O’Brien, Robin Hamilton and longest serving member of the club, Brian Dale. The awards were then presented to each recipient by visiting District Governor Andy who congratulated them all.

It was revealed that members had raised a magnificent £7,800 in their annual charity shop which had been open until Saturday. Vice-President Bob Mckinnon thanked all those who had donated items, bought goods and helped in any way to contribute towards its success. Members and visitors then heard from youngsters who had recently attended Rotary youth leadership events and the meeting was completed by the second round of the District Quiz against Tranent Rotary Club with Dunbar as narrow victors.
