Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on the A199 (Dunbar to East Linton) at the junction to Biel.

The crash occurred around 8.50pm last Thursday involving a John Deere tractor with a trailer travelling southbound and a Fiat Multijet travelling northbound.

The road was closed for approximately four hours at Beltonford roundabout to allow emergency services access. The 50-year-old driver of the Multijet was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries to his upper body.

Sgt Andrew Gibb said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision and anyone with information which can help is asked to get in touch. Those with information are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers (0800 555 111).”
