Do you have what it takes to be a special constable?

Police Scotland has taken to Twitter and Facebook to find potential Special Constables for the region.

Special Constables volunteered for 882 hours in March 2016 across the Lothians and Scottish Borders and over the past year Scotland’s Specials have put in over 50,000 hours.

With a long and impressive history the Special Constabulary is a part-time, volunteer body consisting of officers with similar powers to that of police officers. Special constables, work alongside police officers – forging strong partnerships in the community, patrolling our streets, preventing crime and interacting with all kinds of people to help keep the communities across the Lothians and Scottish Borders safe.
