THE picturesque Duns Castle is the venue for an Antiques Roadshow being organised by Duns Rotary Club.

The event will be held on Friday, March 16, between 3pm and 7pm, by kind permission of the Hay family.

Experts from Bonhams, Fine Art Auctioneers, will be on hand to provide valuations of silver, works of art, jewellery and general antiques. All proceeds will go to charity.

President of Duns Rotary, Robert Lamont, said: “The valuation fee of £5 per article - or three for £10 - is modest so this is a golden opportunity for folks in the Scottish Borders, north Northumberland and East Lothian to dig out their family heirlooms and bring them along.

“Who knows what we may find! Perhaps there is an old master or a piece of porcelain or an old ring in someone’s house which could be worth a fortune!”
