Both Eyemouth RNLI lifeboats and their volunteer crews were called out at around 4.15pm on Saturday, October 8, after it was reported that a dive vessel had lost its steering and required assistance.

When the lifeboats arrived at Pettico Wick, St Abbs Head, they found the vessel was being assisted by fellow dive vessels, Oceanic and Wavedancer, who were standing by to ensure all divers were safely recovered on-board Pathfinder.

Once the dive party were safely on-board, the Pathfinder was able to return to St Abbs under its own power, escorted by both lifeboats should any further assistance be required.

Once the Pathfinder was safely alongside in St Abbs, both lifeboats were stood down and returned to station, just over an hour after the initial call.
