Ayton and Burnmouth Church linked with Foulden and Mordington and Houndwood, Grantshouse and Reston held their Holiday Club for Junior School children in P1-P7 last week.

It took place in Ayton School and was led by Stuart and Mark from Berwickshire Christian Youth Trust with support from a team of volunteers from the churches. It was a great success with everyone having fun with games, songs, crafts and activities.

The club lasted for three full days and explored the Old and New Testament stories in the Bible using the theme of Desert Detectives.

The 28 children who attended were divided into four age groups for the craft activities. Fruit and juice was provided by members of the churches for the mid morning break.

On Friday afternoon over 30 family and friends came to see a performance of extracts from the week and were given refreshements. They were able to look at the Museum of Antiquities, which include artefacts dug out of the sand as well as those made by the children.
