A COLDSTREAM dentist is still waiting to hear of news of his brother who has been missing ever since the horrific earthquake stunned Christchurch last week.
Allan Sinclair, originally from Uddingston, Lanarkshire, was believed to have been working in the medical practice at the Canterbury Television Building when it collapsed.
His distraught family, including his brother, local dentist John Sinclair, have heard nothing from him since the earthquake struck.
“I have been in contact with my sister-in-law and it really doesn’t look very promising,” said John on Monday.
“When the earthquake struck the building came down immediately so there is not an awful lot of hope.
“They are recovering bodies now so it is very distressing.”
John said Allan, his wife, Frances, and their two boys Alistair (17) and Harry (14) had moved out to New Zealand seven years ago and had been enjoying life there until the earthquake struck.
Before moving Allan had worked as a GP in the south of England.
