TIMe is running out if you want to have your say on a report which will shape planning in the region for the next decade.
The 12 week public consultation on the Main Issues Report (MIR) comes to a close on June 25.
The report includes proposals for the future policy direction on matters such as housing, economy, retailing and green networks and green spaces.
The MIR also contains detailed site development proposals across the wider Borders area.
These proposals include employment land which has a particular relevance to maximising the potential of the Borders Railway and the provision of housing sites to ensure a continued supply of land for future development.
Councillor Ron Smith the Executive Member for Planning and the Environment commented: “I would encourage the community to get involved in this part of the planning process because the plans we make now will be used in the future to determine planning applications and to bring forward new land for development.
“Clearly the more responses we receive the easier it will be to provide a plan better suited to the needs of the people of the Borders.”
