SB Alert helps police stop suspect van

A member of the public who signed up to SB Alert helped police apprehend a suspicious white van in Berwickshire.

On Friday, November 28, Police Scotland issued an SB Alert message about two men in a white Ford Transit van calling at isolated properties in the Coldstream and Duns areas claiming to be from Whitby selling fish. Police believed the men were involved in illegal and aggressive doorstep selling and other crimes.

The police gave the van registration and when a Cockburnspath resident spotted the van they phoned the police and the men were apprehended.
