Coldstream has been twinned with Bennecourt, a delightful small town on the River Seine that lies halfway between the cities of Paris and Rouen, for over 25 years and this year a party of French friends will be visiting Coldstream during Civic Week to join in the fun and festivities.

A substantial number of Coldstream people have been involved in twinning for most, if not all , of these 25 years, and more are being encouraged to join in.

“Twinning is open to everyone in and around Coldstream and I urge anyone who would like to get involved to come along to our AGM in the Community Centre on Wednesday, January 27, at 7pm,” said John Fulton.

He added: “Coldstream Twinning Committee would particularly like to encourage younger people to become involved as it will be them who will hopefully continue to develop our links with Bennecourt over the next 25 years. Our children learn French in school and so it is an exciting opportunity for families to become involved and form close friendships with families in Bennecourt. Make 2016 the year you get involved in Coldstream’s twinning.”
