The Coldstream based Hudson Hirsel community awards fund has injected over £12,000 into the local community in 2016.

The fund was set up by the company currently building the Leet Haugh estate in the town, money being paid into the fund with each section of the estate completed.

During the latest awards, money went to Coldstream British Legion Social Club (£1,000, repair of gable wall); Coldstream Junior Football Club (£1,000, new kit); Friday Handicrafts Group (£500, tapestry materials); Honour our Troops (£750 poppy and war memorial garden projects); and Coldstream in Bloom (£1,000 new flower furniture and repair of boat).
