Cockburnspath SWRI celebrated their 90th birthday with a party in the village hall on Thursday, September 11. Entertainment for the evening was provided by the Poddlies from Eyemouth, after a lovely meal provided by the committee. The honour of cutting the 90th birthday cake went to Ann Findlay, a former president and rural member, and Jean Virtue president of the WRI.

The party included invited guests from Abbey St Bathans, Ayton, Coldingham, Grantshouse, Reston and Oldhamstocks.

The competition for the evening was for a floral table centre, won by Jean Black, second Ann Oliphant. The next meeting is on October 16, when Brian Pool will give a talk on bees. The competition is for a favourite candle.
