The debate over plans for a new Co-op in Duns is to be extended to allow the public and councillors their full say.
At the meeting of Duns Community Council on November 4, there were complaints from members of the public as well as the Community Councillors about the lack of time allotted to view and reflect on the plans for the proposed new Co-op store.
Therefore an extension has been arranged and a meeting will take place on Wednesday November 19, at 7pm in the Council Chambers. Present will be a senior member of SBC planning department, Chris Beebe (Co-op Group) and Graeme Laing (Architect). The plans will be available for viewing in Duns Public Library. Questions may be asked from the floor.
All objections and comments must be lodged to Planning Department SBC by November 21.
The plans for a new £4 million shop east of the High School, made public in the summer, have caused concerns over its location.
