A Disco in Robins Nest on Saturday night brought yet another successful Chirnside Civic Week to a close.

Following last Sunday’s crowning of Gala Queen Hannah Black there was a variety of events throughout the week for all ages.

On Tuesday night the Ross Robertson Mile attracted a good entry. Results were: boys - 1 Ben Reynolds, 2 Oliver Stewart, 3 Charlie Stewart; girls - 1 Isla Taylor, 2 Tammy Hunter, 3 Keira McGregor.

Results from Wednesday’s Bowls competition were: 1 Anthony Lugget, Ben Warnock and Lauren Douglas; 2 Daniel Strachan, Joe Condy and Michael Pattenden; 3 Kacey Moffat, James Black and Hannah Black.

There were pets of all kinds and breeds at Thursday’s Pet Show witrh the overall winner being Millie (Alexandra Vallance).

Class results were: small dog - 1 Bindi (Emma Anderson), 2 Poppy (Skye Waite), 3 Benji (Hazel Gautry); medium dog - 1 Bella (Becca Donaldson), 2 Sasha (Keri Black), 3 Senna (Lucy Sadler); big dog - 1 Sonny (Emma Anderson), 2 Flynn (Chris Crilly), 3 Samson (Wendy Ward); waggiest tail - 1 Cracker (Kirsty Chalmers), 2 Hugo (Annmarie Borthwick), 3 Sam (Julie Robertson); dog judge would like to take home - 1 Harley (Sophie Pessara), 2 Zero (Brian Fiddes), 3 Maisy (Lauren Vallance); best rescue dog - 1 Tilly (Rosie Walker), 2 Toby (Janet McWilliam), 3 equal Samson (Wendy Ward) and Sophie (Rosie Walker).

Cats: 1 Izzy (Gemma Moffat), 2 George (Fiona Hall); unusual pet - 1 Junior (Dougal Richardson); overall winner - Millie (Alexandra Vallance).

Friday night’s quiz was won by Blurred Vision, with the Tee-wats runners-up and the Hair Bear Bunch third. The booby prize went to Relocation.

Saturday’s Savenger Hunt winners were The Warnock family and the Family Quiz winners were The Chadbournes.

In the Over 40s football match Chirnside defeated their local rivals Duns 5-2 on a match played in a great spirit.
