POLICE are appealing for information after Chirnside Parish Church fell victim to vandals for the second time in a month last week.
The incident took place sometime between 6pm on Thursday, August 4 and the early hours of Friday, August 5, when someone entered the church grounds and threw stones resulting in seven leaded windows, measuring approximately 4” x 3” being damaged.
The estimated cost of repair is £500.
This is the second occasion that mindless people have caused damage to the church windows, a prior incident being reported to police on July 21.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed these incidents taking place, or anyone who has any information, which could lead to the identification of those responsible.
