Eyemouth Rotary, Presidential handover and skiff

The Rotary Club of Eyemouth and District has a new president.

The Rotary wheel has turned again for another year and the Eyemouth and District club welcomed its new president David McClymont who took over, from Mike Jopling, last Thursday at a special musical evening both are shown in the photograph. President David said he was looking forward to his year in charge and has some interesting thoughts and plans for the coming year.

A cross border event was organised with over 60 guests being entertained by musicians from The Rotary Club of Wansbeck, The Rotary Club of Dunbar, the Podlies and Peter the Piper. It was a great evening. Thanks go to all who attended, performed and to the staff at the Golf Club in Eyemouth.

Prior to the evening commencing the members of the Eyemouth Community Rowing Project brought the skiff Unity to the golf club for pictures with outgoing President Mike Jopling. He was instrumental in winning the award at the District 1020 Conference last year enabling the rowers to buy a trailer to take the skiff to regattas across the country. The rowers wished to thank him personally on his last evening as president. Kevin R. O’Brien, the professional photographer kindly took the official photographs free of charge showing the members of the Rotary Club of Eyemouth and District and the members of the Rowing project.

The Eyemouth and District Rotary Club meet on a Thursday evening at the Golf Club in Eyemouth 6:30 for 7pm. President David and members of the club welcome visitors to come and see what work they do.
