BERWICK Young Farmers are gearing up to host the Northumberland Young Farmers’ Rally for the first time in 11 years.
The action-packed day will go ahead on West Ancroft Farm, near Duddo this Saturday, June 9, with an Olympic theme.
The day starts with the judging of needlework, metalwork, cookery and woodwork from 9am. The Advertiser’s photographer, Kimberley Powell, will be judging photo entries.
The event will be open to the public from 12 noon, and competitions continue, with a national anthem contest, the 100m dash (in wellies), a tug o’war and a bale stook.
Teams of participants will be competing across all events for the Rally Trophy.
Rally Secretary Laura Lewins said that the day promises to benefit the whole area. “We’re keen to see Young Farmers groups from everywhere, especially from across the Border,” she said. “Entry is £3 and parking is free.”
