New figures showing a further drop in the number of unemployed people in the Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk constituency have been welcomed by local MP Michael Moore.
Mr Moore MP said: “These remain challenging times for many people in the Borders, but there is some encouragement from today’s employment figures.
“Along with my colleagues, I am committed to building a stronger economy, and a fairer society with it, where everyone can get on in life.
“It is encouraging news that unemployment has continued to fall in the Borders for the 7th successive month in a row. However we cannot be complacent.
“There is still a lot needed to help younger people and women back into work in the Borders and I will be focussing on them in the apprentices showcase later in the month.”
