Following the overwhelming response to Scottish Borders Business Forum’s recent Borders Railway meeting, the Forum is planning to hold a follow-up event in the near future.

Around 80 people from across the region, and with a wide range of business interests, attended the meeting at Scottish Borders Council headquarters to hear about business opportunities connected to the railway and about the rail services available.

Jack Clark, chairman of Scottish Borders Business Forum, said: “The fact that this meeting was hugely oversubscribed shows the level of business interest in the Borders Railway, and I was delighted at the response to this event. With the topics discussed ranging from housing to advertising opportunities, I am sure that everyone who attended took something away from the meeting that has given them food for thought.”

Amongst those speaking at the event was Mike Kean, UK Rail Development Director for Abellio, which will operate the Borders Railway franchise, Michael Moore MP and Councillor Stuart Bell, Scottish Borders Council’s Executive Member for Economic Development.
