Plans lodged to create soft play centre in Coldstream

An unused industrial storage building in Coldstream could be turned into a children’s soft play centre, if plans are given the go-ahead.

The building, owned by The Osprey Company since 2006, has remained largely unused for two years and has fallen into disrepair.

However, a planning application has been lodged with Scottish Borders Council by a couple from Coldstream who are proposing to buy the building and turn it into a “supervised children’s play centre, sensory zone and community resource.”

In their application, Jon and Anna Standing state that the new facility would be called the Laughing Ducks Soft Play.

However, a neighbouring company has registered its opposition to the proposal on the grounds that Hill View Trading Estate is an inappropriate location for a children’s indoor play centre.
