The Baytree Café at Pearsons of Duns has a new manager.
She is Stephanie Smith, an energetic young mum and master cake maker from the town.
“It was such a surprise when I was promoted, really unexpected,” said Steph. “Hopefully we can get the place buzzing, and get people to come back.”
One week into her new appointment Steph and the Baytree Cafe played an incremental role in the success of Pearsons’ Easter Bonanza. Steph said: “It was very hectic, but very rewarding to see everyone enjoying our home baking. It was a fantastic day for everyone at Pearsons.”
With regard to changes in the pipeline, the Baytree’s menu is going to be changed shortly with a lighter, fresher brighter selection of delightful dishes.
A big change which is already in operation, is to exclusively use free range eggs in all products. “I am very happy that we are now using free range eggs, and aim to attain the ‘Eggsellence’ award by the British Hen Welfare Trust,” Steph said.
So why visit the Baytree Cafe? “We have warm and friendly staff, our products are not only homemade, they are prepared fresh,” she said.
