Pease Bay Leisure Park in Berwickshire and Thurston Manor Leisure Park in East Lothian have both achieved 4-star awards from national tourism body VisitScotland.

At the same time, holiday park operator Verdant Lesiure is reporting a 30% boost in holiday home sales year on year.

The 4-star rating means accommodation, facilities and services at both parks are excellent. Thurston Manor has also been awarded four pennants by the AA for achieving a quality score of 90% for touring facilitiesat its 2014 inspection.

Verdant Leisure has invested heavily in customer services and in further improving site facilities at both locations. Last year it launched a new 53 pitch deer park development at Thurston Manor, specially designed to allow holiday home owners maximum space and privacy.

Commenting on the 4-star accolades, Verdant Leisure operations director Bev Dixon said; “We are delighted that our parks have again achieved the much sought after 4-star badge of excellence.

“It is fantastic acknowledgement of the efforts and dedication of the park teams and will be widely recognised by holidaymakers and holiday home owners as a symbol of our high standards and that we care about their experience. It is the same high standards which have contributed to our most recent uplift in sales and we aim to continue to build on this success across all our parks.”

Separated by only six miles of coast road, Pease Bay and Thurston Manor are worlds apart in terms of the experience they offer. Pease Bay is situated on its own sandy beach, part of the famous Berwickshire coastline and renowned amongst the world’s surfing community, and Thurston Manor is a former country park offering a range of outdoor pursuits in one of the most scenic parts of East Lothian.

Verdant Leisure is also the owner and operator of the Riverside Country Park at Wooler.
