Quixwood wind farm developers Banks Renewables have rearranged meetings with local community councils now the lambing season is over.
After having their plans approved for the 13 turbine wind farm near Grantshouse, the developers now want to discuss how the £2.6 million community fund (around £104,000 a year) should be spent.
They postponed their original round of meetings with members of Grantshouse, Abbey St Bathans, Preston and Bonkyl to fit in with the farming community’s lambing season
Phil Dyke, director at Banks Renewables, said: ““We are looking forward to meeting with the community councils as well as members of the local community over the coming months, in order to discuss plans for the community fund as well as potential investment for jobs creation, training and apprenticeship schemes.
“The next step will be to set up a community liaison group which will represent the local people.”
