Multi-personality music company Travelled Music are renowned for their tour management services and for promoting quality music events on both sides of the Border.
And with the addition of local web and graphic designer they are now looking to add a new string to their bow.
The company are launching the new Travelled Media division thanks to a grant from Digital City Fellowship and looking to build on the tour and event management services by investing in a top of the range PA system and tour van thanks to a loan from Transmit Start-Up.
The funding has come their way in the last few weeks from the Digital City Fellowship grant and was awarded after Steven travelled down to Middelesbrough to put their case forward for investment.
The Fellowship awards European funding to new digital start-up businesses in the North East, representatives at the University of Teesside were obviously impressed as he received word he’d been successful only days later.
Steven ultimately hopes to develop primarily websites and marketing campaigns for the music industry but is always happy to work with local businesses and is already getting some steady work locally.
“The grant is really to cover your living costs for three months as you’re starting up but there may be the option to extend the funding to six months depending on how sustainable the business is at the time” Steven explained.
“Travelled Media has been running since the start of April and it’s been going well so far.
“I studied web design at Abertay Dundee University but after graduating I struggled to get a full time job in the field without experience so spent two years as a sole-trader building up some a portfolio and some real world business experience”
“Since starting up again I’ve been working on projects for various local companies including Cyma Construction & Ross Dougal Fish Merchants.
“As well as designing websites and addressing the e-commerce side of things I also offer support with social media and print design.”
A member of local bands The Warehouse Announcement and Roy’s Iron DNA, as well as one half of Travelled Music, Steven is clued up on the local music scene and hopes he can soon focus on helping artists both locally, nationally and internationally with their online presence and direct-to-fan marketing as well as working on this year’s Frontier Festival.
