Getting the Borders working

IN the Borders 1,287 people were supported by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) between April and September 2012.

These individuals accessed the careers information, advice and guidance services. There were also 236 new starts to SDS’s national training programmes.

Malcolm Barron, SDS’s head of operations for the region said: “From getting more young people in to ‘real life’ work experience placements to offering apprenticeships across a number of sectors, Borerers are benefitting from an improving range of services from SDS. We will continue to work with partners to ensure we develop programmes in response to the changing needs of people.”

For help to get in to work or training or advice, call the careers helpline on 0800 917 8000.
