Firefighters tackle farm blaze near Duns

More than 50 firefighting staff have been tackling a fire to a diesel fuel tank and a building at Caldra Farm, Fogo, near Duns overnight.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received a call to a fire in a building at Caldra Farm, Fogo, near Duns just before 8.30pm last night. Crews from Duns and Coldstream community fire stations were immediately dispatched.

On arrival, they were met with a fully developed fire involving a diesel fuel tank and a building. Additional firefighters were then called in from Kelso, Eyemouth, Berwick and Lauder. At its height there were over 50 firefighting staff, including officers in attendance.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire and prevent further fire spread to adjoining property.

A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said no-one was injured and added: “The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.”
