Scottish Secretary and Borders MP Michael Moore will be be put under the spotlight when he appears in front of the region’s voters and opinion formers this week.
Mr Moore, who represents Berwickshire at Westminster, is the latest in a series of influential public figures to discuss his career and politics at an event hosted by the Scottish Borders Chamber of Commerce (SBCC).
He will appear at an ‘in conversation’ session in Jedburgh on Friday with chamber director and freelance journalist Maggie Stanfield, with the audience given the opportunity to ask him questions afterwards.
As Scottish Secretary, Mr Moore is playing a leading role in the No campaign in the run-up to next year’s vote on Scottish independence. While Borders business issues will be discussed at the event, the referendum and its impact locally are certain to be raised.
The lunchtime event is taking place on at Swan and Turner Auctioneers, Jedburgh, at 12.30pm. SBCC members and non-members are invited to attend. Admission is free.
