Plumbing and heating apprentice Darren Goodfellow, from Eyemouth, has been recognised for his good work at an annual prize giving ceremony organised by the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation.

Darren is in the third year of an apprenticeship with David Leslie Plumbing and Heating, and he also studies at Borders College.

He was named as the best third year apprentice from the Borders catchment area. And the night got even better for David as he was also named as a runner-up in the best over-all apprentice category.

The SNIPEF Edinburgh and District Branch initiated the ceremony 13 years ago to recognise apprentices who excel in their performance at college and are committed to completing their 4-year plumbing industry approved Modern Apprenticeship.

The presentations were made by Mr Ralph Shaw, President of SNIPEF Edinburgh and District Branch (a branch of the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation.
