Accountancy firm wins again

A Borders accountancy firm has been named the best in Scotland for the second year in a row.

Stark Main & Co ended the year on a high by picking up the award at the British Accountancy Awards in London. The awards are considered to be the ‘oscars’ of the industry.

The chartered tax advisor and accountancy firm from Selkirk scooped the award for ‘Independent Firm of the Year - Scotland’ for the second year running.

The judging panel said that the firm had some great client and staff stories which stood them out from the competition.

They also said Stark Main & Co showed good growth and commitment to its community responsibilities and put processes in place to track client and staff metrics.

The firm which was founded by Jim Stark and Ian Main in 2006 has gone from strength to strength and from its Selkirk HQ now serves a client base ranging from the Borders to Brisbane

It and also has recently opened an Edinburgh office exclusively serving the Scottish Dental market.

Director Ian Main said: “We are exceptionally proud to have been recognised in this way on a national level.

“The fact that our exceptional team have continued to grow on our 2012 success and retain this title demonstrates an unswerving commitment.”
