WORK continues to progress well on a brand new pub and restaurant in Dunbar, which is now set to employ 30 bar, restaurant and kitchen staff for its 180-person capacity premises.

Pub managers for the Pine Marten have now been recruited and second interviews for team members were held on January 29.

All new team members – kitchen and front-of-house - will complete a comprehensive training programme to ensure they’re ready for the pub’s opening. Training will include an extensive pre-opening programme and e-learning courses, and includes two nationally-recognised qualifications.

In addition, through the Marston’s Inns and Taverns career path, modern apprenticeships and NVQs are available – as well as development opportunities through the Keyholder Supervisory and Chef programmes.

Marston’s Inns and Taverns are fully committed to supporting the career development of its employees

“We’re only a month away from opening and this is an exciting time for the pub. We believe that when it’s open, the Pine Marten will be a hub for the community that will not only offer great food and drink but also excellent value for money and fantastic customer service,” said Cheryl Evans, from Marston’s Inns and Taverns.

The Marston’s Pine Marten will offer fresh rotisserie-cooked chicken, an extensive menu, quality ales, wines and soft drinks, plus a family-friendly environment with a play area for the children.

The Pine Marten is Marston’s first pub in Scotland and is part of an ongoing new-build scheme to provide top quality pubs across the UK.
