THE popular county magazine East Lothian Life was short listed for the prestigious Periodical Publishers Association (Scotland) Scottish Magazines Award 2012, in the category ‘Best Small Publishing Company’.

The award ceremony was held at Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow when East Lothian Life vied with high quality magazines from all over Scotland.

A delighted Pauline Jaffray, the magazine’s editor said: “Just to be short listed for a prestigious award in the Scottish publishing industry and get highly commended is so rewarding.

“it isb great to see the combined efforts of all who help with East Lothian Life being recognised.”

This year, East Lothian Life celebrated its 23rd birthday as the county’s quarterly magazine. It was the brainchild of editor, Pauline Jaffray, who lives in Dunbar. The launching of East Lothian Life in 1989 was the realisation of a long-standing ambition for Pauline to establish a quality magazine, which holds the community at its heart.

The magazine provides a unique record of both change and continuity within the county, highlighting East Lothian’s distinctive culture and heritage.

Pauline’s tireless commitment to producing a magazine packed with wide ranging, carefully researched and well-written articles has earned her the loyalty of contributors, advertisers, distributors and readers alike.
