Berwickshire News to relaunch in compact format

IT’S all change for your favourite weekly newspaper, as we prepare to take on a fantastic new look and feel next month.

After more than 150 years as a broadsheet newspaper, The Berwickshire News is preparing to relaunch in a much easier-to-read compact format on March 21.

Combined with a fresh outlook and plenty of new content, the slimmed down size will make The Berwickshire much easier to pick up and harder to put down.

There is a refreshed, modern design to go with the new compact format. But your favourite local newspaper will still contain all the things which make it essential reading. Most importantly, we will continue to provide the very best coverage of news, sport, entertainment and community events relevant to the area where you live.

Every week, The Berwickshire carries stories, pictures and information you won’t get elsewhere.

We cover the news that directly affects you and your family – everything from planning issues, education, crime, local politics, community fundraising, to how public sector cutbacks will affect the services you rely on.

Buying The Berwickshire every week will ensure that you know about the best shows and gigs coming up at The Maltings in Berwick and other local venues throughout the Borders and Northumberland.

Whether it is Berwick Rangers, Berwick Bandits, East of Scotland League or amateur football, rugby, golf or darts, you’ll read the results, reports and interviews on our pages.

Our sister paper, The Berwick Advertiser, will also be relaunching on March 21, as will fellow Tweeddale Press Group title The Southern Reporter.

Our voucher subscription service means you can make sure you pick up your copy of the new compact Berwickshire News each week for only 60p. That is 25% cheaper than the normal cover price of 80p, and if your local newsagent has a delivery service you could save unnecessary hassle as well as money.

An annual subscription costs just £31.20 and you can pay by direct debit by visiting www.subscriptiononline.co.uk/BKN or phoning 0844 891 6464.

But it won’t just be in print that you can expect to see changes in the coming months. Our website is set to be relaunched in due course, and you can expect to see even more up-to-the-minute breaking news together with more video and picture content.

To complete the multi-media set, our reporters will be increasingly active on Facebook and Twitter, providing background and conversation to the week’s biggest stories.

The new compact version of The Berwickshire will have a huge range of content to choose from and every issue is sure to contain something that matters to you.

Join us on our new journey and don’t miss out.
