Burnmouth’s ‘No Cold Caller’ scheme is due to be launched next Tuesday, September 17.

At Burnmouth Community Council meeting it was reported that the majority of forms distributed in the village had been returned, most residents indicating they were in favour of the scheme .

Each household will be given a pack containing information about bogus callers, alternative services such as Border Care and Repair, a sticker for display and other information (consumer rights from trading standards, how to opt out of cold calling by mail and telephone etc.)

The sign will be erected at each entrance to the village and asking residents will be asked to display their stickers.

Reporting on recent police activity PC Nash told community councillors they had had seven calls over the past month about a vehicle accident, suspicious vehicle, flooding, dispute at the harbour, careless driving and damage to a speed camera.
