Cameron Tindle was in outstanding form at the weekend in the British Under 20s Indoor Athletics Championships in Sheffield.
The 17-year-old won the bronze medal in the 200m in a new pb of 21.46 a new Scottish under 20s record.
The standard of the final was of the highest calibre with three world junior finalists in the line-up, and all three won medals. The outstanding Toby Harris won gold, Oliver Bromby won silver and Cameron Tindle bronze. All three medalists are also in the Great Britain relay squad for the World Junior Championships in Poland later this year.
The Scottish Under 20s 200m record which Cameron broke had been held by another local athlete, Ayton’s Ian Horsburgh who was trained by Henry Gray senior.
Cameron’s coaches are Henry Gray Jnr from Eyemouth and Bruce Scott of Earlston and he now goes forward to the British Senior Championships in Sheffield where he could well challenge the Scottish Senior 200m indoor record of 21.3 held by Ryan Oswald.
