Six weeks after launching their bra bank for Against Breast Cancer, Duns Rangers and Guides have almost reached their target of 1,000 bras.

A bra count carried out by Duns Ranger unit produced a tally of 962.

“The community has really embraced this project with bags of bras being handed in from far and wide,” said Morna Macdonald, leader of Duns Rangers and Duns Guides.

“Individuals and groups, schools, womens’ groups, mothers and Girlguiding Scotland’s County Commissioners. Bras are still being handed in and we expect to reach our target of 1,000 in the next few days We are very grateful to everyone who is supporting this worthwhile cause.

“Our big pink bra bank is located in Berwickshire Association of Voluntary Services (BAVS) Charity shop in the Market Square Duns. It’s still there and we welcome any donations of bras at any time.”
