Primary school pupils in the Borders are being urged to swap books in an initiative to encourage reading and raise money for charity.
The award-winning Swap Shop scheme, sponsored by ScottishPower, asks children to exchange books and donate 50p per swap to Aberlour, a charity helping the most vulnerable children and young people.
Karen McMurrich of Aberlour said: “We are delighted to be the partner of the ScottishPower Swap Shop.
“This is a fantastic initiative and we hope that many schools in Scotland will support it.”
And schools also have a a chance to win a visit from a respected children’s author, who will be taking part in the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
If you want to register your school to take part, please contact Roanna Katz of The BIG Partnership at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 0141 333 9585. Schools should register their interest before Wednesday, May 23.
