Have your say

The shops have been full of Christmas presents for weeks, if not months, but that does not make it easier to decide what to choose for your family and friends. Especially if you are trying to think of something different from the usual and something that lasts.

There is an ideal solution if you have someone on your list who rather likes birds and wildlife – and who does not? And that is a year’s subscription to the beautifully illustrated new quarterly magazine ‘Nature’s Home’ as a member of the RSPB.

The £29 subscription brings a choice of free gift, entry to over 100 nature reserves, a membership pack and the magazine – as well as helping our native birds which face increasing problems for survival.

If you need a present for a young person, then the Wildlife Explorers is the answer: geared to three different age groups – under 8, 8 to 12 and teenager – it has its own bi-monthly magazine for each group, with all kinds of ideas for activities, holidays, competitions, etc.

Who knows, this could steer him or her into a healthy, worthwhile and absorbing interest – perhaps just what he or she needs?

It is certainly worth the £19 sub, or £29 for two or more in a family.

The address of both the RSPB and their youth branch Wildlife Explorers is The Lodge, Sandy, Beds SG19 2DL, tel 01767 693680.
