Girlguiding Berwickshire hosted its Annual Gathering recently. Leaders, Young Leaders and guests listened to presentations of many exciting opportunities which members have enjoyed over the past year.

‘Thanks and Recognition’ is an important part of the evening and many awards and certificates were presented including long service awards, leadership qualifications, young leader qualifications and more.

The evening was particularly special for Amy Learmonth, a Young Leader from Duns. She was awarded the ‘Inspire Volunteer’ trophy which she won at the Saltire Award ceremony.

Amy was nominated by her Leaders for the amazing commitment she has made to girlguiding. Not only has she led young members but she returned to Senior Section to complete a John Muir Award.

Though not yet 18 Amy was also presented with her Adult Leadership Qualification. She and Kara White, also a Young Leader in Duns have clocked up over 500 hours of volunteering and were awarded Saltire Summit Award certificates.

Girlguiding Berwickshire would like to congratulate all who received awards and to thank leaders for the work they do.
