Berwickshire Housing Association’s subsidiary Seton Care has closed the doors on its Berwick care home Seton Hall.

The last residents out last week and the emtpy building was made secure.

“We would like to thank all the staff, residents and their families for their co-operation over recent months,” said Helen Forsyth, chief executive of Berwickshire Housing Association.

“We were very sorry to take the inevitable decision to close Seton Hall as we know it was held in very high regard by residents, families and the

wider community. Given the reducing number of residents and the age and condition of the building, we were in the difficult position of having no alternative.

“We have been working very hard with the staff, residents and families at Seton Hall to make the closure process as positive as possible. This closure process is now complete.

“I’m pleased to say that the last four remaining residents have now moved to new homes, many in Berwick.

“I’m delighted that many of the staff who have worked tirelessly to provide the best possible service throughout have moved with our previous residents into new roles. We wish residents and staff all the very best for the future.”
