Despite the poor growing season and with some categories being a little light in exhibits, Innerwick Horticultural Society’s annual flower show did not disappoint.

With its unique blend of vivid flower displays, award winning fruit and vegetables, together with hand crafted items and the popular children’s section – the judges had a difficult task in selecting the winners.

President Norma Watt, said: “It was fantastic that so many residents took the time to enter and support the village show in so many ways.” She was particularly pleased that the shows New Beginners section, which is open to all ages, was well supported.

George Anderson, MBE of the BBC’s Beechgrove Garden was equally impressed with the variety and quality of all the exhibits and he chatted comfortably with exhibitors and visitors exchanging many tips and hints.

The show and all it entails could not survive without the support of so many individuals and sponsors, EDF Energy, Verdant Leisure, Viridor Waste Management and Community Windpower.
